Au Cafe Theatre
Au Café Théâtre there were all red lights
and there were men smoking their cigars.
Those whom they'd come to see were performing;
performing slowly and just for them.
There were ladies on chairs on the stage made for them,
and some were singing the songs of the age.
The men looked drowsy in the red light,
and barely cheered when the ladies were done.
