At the End of the Earth
To avoid the cold and snow, I took a trip down south
to hang out in the desert, but I’ve turned into a louse.
I brag about the sunshine to those who stayed up north
and act like I’m a genius whose wisdom has burst forth.
Never thought I’d be a snowbird, but I’ve little to regret,
I haven’t found a decent reason to go back North quite yet.
One drawback though is present, in this outback place,
the big Wide World of cyberspace is very slow of pace.
Reminds me of the time back when, (in the olden days)
the internet was young and the games had slower plays.
I thought it was quite awesome as I waited for the screen,
to illustrate some magic or some far off foreign scene.
But I guess I’ve gotten jaded (and cranky, that’s for sure)
if my WiFi is not streamable, I go looking for a cure.
Of which there’s none available, in this remote place
so I have to find another hobby to put a smile on my face.
I guess I’ll go out biking, take a hike or doggy walk,
maybe I’ll meet a fellow old fart and have a little talk.
I can survive on sunshine, this much I know is true,
But I really miss you soupers, I absolutely do!
