At the End of a Known Road
I remember, I've been here before,
The feelings gone, no more words left to say
Hand on the door, no second glance.
Just the creaking restraints you put on my broken heart,
Who does something like that?
You promised me forever, but you couldn't take me there
Where did it all go wrong?
Wasn't the fire burning strong?
I guess our bonfire's love consumed us both
I guess no amount of questions would answer my crying hearts plight.
Gambled with my heart and I drew the short straw,
Now here in the cold light of dawn, the suns setting and there's no light to lead me home
Goodbye seems like the only escape,
But the precious phoenix we called Love, couldn't resuscitate what we had back to life.
Guess it wasn't meant to be.
The end has come and its time for me to move on.
