At Peace
She laid there cradled in my arms,
staring at the stars.
The moonlight flooding her skin.
Her dark loose hair immaculate from the gentle breeze.
Held close, warm.
She was at peace.
So was I.
I couldn't keep count of time.
Just knew we were somewhere in adar.
All I was aware of was our hearts beating in perfect harmony.
How I wish the time right now could freeze.
She gazed at the universe in silence.
Serene and calm.
And I wandered in mine only after losing myself
in her eyes.
