At Midnight
At midnight I meet the devil,
in the far corner of my mind.
We sit and talk about the past
and all the truth I left behind.
The things I thought were buried,
he reminds me they still remain.
No matter the lies I tell myself,
I can never out run the pain.
I always say I love the truth,
but that's not entirely true.
For truth can leave you grieving,
when the facts come into view.
