As the Night Falls

As the night falls in around me; I wonder when the end will be. The future isn’t looking bright. Dreams of better days; come at night. With morning; my sardonic glee. Feeling lost; adrift out at sea. Shipwrecked; a soul amongst debris. Lonely, repentant and contrite. As the night falls— Silence smothers my every plea. My best effort’s; still nobody. Why God?! My path could use some light. Long suffering seems more like spite. God, I beg you! Please comfort thee! As the night falls—
