As Oceans Spray

The fire within me Extinguished with rain that fell from me. Salty tears, as ocean spray but heavy droplets. I have been left only smoldering a long ago pyre Left in ash, scattered now. Bits and jagged pieces of crumbling driftwood Consumed and left among the sandy beach Which was once a resilient soul? of a young girl. The forgotten heart Obliterated by wind and storm I tried once more…..
