As I Walk

I take a step and look around, not a soul in sight, Silence has become the only sound to bless this lonely night, The farther I travel along this path I pray to hear a voice, To grant me release from the wrath of every heinous choice, A journey I was forced to take, one that I must never forget, Can't live knowing every mistake and can't leave with a single regret, Find it hard to seek relief, always envoloped in stress, If I ever get a chance to sleep, I just wake up in cold sweats, Feeling insular, desolated, isolated, and deserted, Walking this path all by my lonesome, maybe I deserve it ? Take a glance behind me, to my surprise, not a single footprint, Has this all been a mirage, or a sign, maybe I should sprint ? Is there even any point ? is my only motivation desperation ? Shall I continue down this path without the slightest hesitation?
