As I Fall
As I Fall
As I Fall,
I see the ground.
Getting closer,
drowning out all sound.
Wind in my ears,
Tears in my eyes,
I see the people,
And I laugh at their cries.
They don't care,
They never did.
They smile inside,
as their life of me they rid.
And as I fall, in me,
There's no regret.
Except for one,
About the girl I'd met.
She was my life,
she was my smile.
I loved her laugh,
But hated her all the while.
The feeling of
necessity,
It slowly healed,
The mess in me.
But soon I knew,
That love was fake.
As she entered a room,
her presence made me shake.
It wasn't her,
that I'd loved.
It was the feeling of purpose,
Thats what I'd loved.
So as I fall,
I do not fight.
Because now, at last,
I did something right.
