As He Was
As he kissed me,
I felt loved.
As he held me,
I felt passion.
As he wiped the tears away,
I felt comfort.
As he laughed,
I felt at ease.
Then, as he told me I was his only,
I felt pain for I knew he lied.
And yet I stayed.
As he told me he loved me,
I felt hurt for I knew another woman held his heart.
And yet I stayed.
As he laughed,
I was depressed.
As he wiped the last tear away,
It was then that I realized I had no more to cry, they all dried.
As he held me,
I felt alone, for he thought of her.
As he kissed me,
I then told him goodbye, bowed my head, and slowly walked away.
