As He Looked Into the Past

a discouraged thought... ...standing peering through the window across the clothes line a light shines illuminating the padded fortress residing in my head caged behind this emerald sea trying to lunge from eyes darkness scribes the tombstone the still confidence slow slumber ray of breath that feeds this sloth of time watching as he stands crushing the hour glass resting upon shoulders of clouded cataracts the mistress of age withering life across the barbed wire rose vines days stolen from fingertips -smashed down- -thrown apart- forced to drink the days warm spit (this rock) firmly planted barren chest protected by the rust covered shield named misconceived differences alone watching your laughter cut my face with razor lips patience just cigarette smoke hanging in the midnight
