Around the Corner
Around The Corner
There was an object, with an obstacle just out of reach
Perceived only by its glow coming from the other side
Waiting for me to show
It was similar to a foreign speech covered in bare iron
There between a veil of secrecy and a concrete shadow
Raised there in perfect crystal clarity
A wall, a corner of reality, hungry for exposure to expose the truth
To reveal the prize just on the other side
I turned the corner there to find yet another wall
This one taller than the first
The glowing object had moved to that location
It was closer now and made a sound that haunted me
I could almost smell its energy and taste its power
The new wall was well within my reach
Around the corner I ran, in fear, bursting into tears
The glowing object and all obstacles had disappeared
Just around the corner from here
