Aren'T We All
Visiting for a moment, but never too long
Captive to thoughts, especially when wrong
Finding our self, if only to be
Searching for light, if only to see
Quick to make promises, if only to break
Hoping for chances, if only to take
Wishing for fortune, if only to spend
Looking for the broken, if only to mend
Living our life, if only to end
Writing our message, if only to send
Saying our words, if only to speak
Judging our neighbor, if only to critique
Hearing our loved ones, if only to listen
Remembering their lives, if only to miss them
Speaking our minds, if only to be heard
Dreaming of flying, if only a bird
Planning our steps, if only to falter
Changing our mind, if only to alter
Guarding our memories, if only to forget
Counting our victories, if only to forfeit
Hiding our sorrows, if only to remember
Building more friendships, if only to dismember
Shouting in pain, if only to be loud
Working so hard, if only to be proud
Gathering our friends, if only to celebrate
Gaining more knowledge, if only to speculate
Sharing our feelings, if only to relate
Rushing our life, if only to wait
Pleading for longevity, if only to die
Asking more questions, if only to know why
Living immortally, if only to deny
Receiving our fate, if only to reply
