Are You Who You Say You Are?

Are you who you say you are Or is it just a ruse Who are our leaders In literal abuse? In a competitive world As we share our work Do we waste our time In this murky quirk There are angels and demons Who hide among us They stand by our shoulders Their front, as they discuss us Is it deliberation They read us by chance Or misrepresentation They just give us a glance Questions need answers Reads need to be right Equality breeds parity It's either black or white

just like the nation saw in the famous O. J Simpson Trial a part of the nation turned it's back on the truth. and even perpetuated the lie to it's own brothers and sisters as angels wittnessed. i couldn't believe it myself but i saw. jhl

As usual, James, this is excellent! I truly admire your work. This is clearly, thought provoking! One sure thing is, a lie will not stand forever. That's my belief. Sooner or later the heart speaks. (Smile) Peace, Audrey

I love your masterful poetry here James. For yes there are questions that need answers, the media reads need to be right. And the demons are blended in with the angels, and hard to know which is which. Sincerely, Moses

Amen to this, James! Couldn't agree more -- but of course you already know that! I can see the "angels and demons" lining up on different sides of the hall now. Into which category does each false friend fall? Awesome and a favorite! Love, Carolyn
