Are You There God
Are you there God
As my faith dwindles
I ask myself
Is there any God ?
Ever since I was a child
you stood beside me,
A perception I was safe
constantly prevailed,
More of joys
some bitter memories,
Fabulous successes
fractional failures,
I felt grateful
nurtured the trust,
Every time I closed my eyes
I could feel you within.
What if I am a grown up?
You see me in tears
and don't console,
You just ignore
as my heart bleeds,
Wounds on my soul
now don't heal,
Embers of desires
simmer and eat my pride,
Deafness you pretend
and refuse to take me back.
Have you abandoned me ?
Are you there God ?
