Are You Happy

As my little child would ask, are you happy today Unbeknownst to the task of just making my way Just sitting there all alone in the cars back seat Such an innocent tone of a time that was so neat But that day I couldn't answer being so long ago In that I couldn't tell her, I also couldn't let it show As then she said it again, Daddy, are you happy I turned and looked and finally I was able to see I saw her beautiful smile displayed with such grace And there was no denial throughout her whole face As she said Daddy I asked you if you were happy "Today we'll just let it be but I'm happy you're with me" And just that little light that she shined towards my way Gave me a different sight and changed each new day As I realized what I had and all His blessings bestowed Once being so sad I soon realized how much was owed Are you happy? Come on... get happy! To my little Erin, I'm happy.
