A profound question.........but, I do hope the answer is a resounding NO .... Well done, Gerard....a great question, yet sad that it needs to be asked isn't it? Congratulations on this introspective poem! Love, Carrie

This is excellent and goes right to the heart of parenting. I like the flow of the words and the delivery of the message with the use of the rhetorical questions. Great job! Joseph

Unfortunately one cannot act fast enough to save the innocent. Like chicks, vulnerable against the cruelty of reality...Thanks for you comment. All the best, iolanda

U are so sweet Gerard.. I published a childrens book years ago called "Children's Charms" and it was a really good seller back in the 70's and 80's .. then personal things got in the way and I never recirculated the printed copies again but I still have my originals... someday soon..my friend.. two of my sons poetry is also in the childrens book.. and of course I have luv poems and spiritual poems too.. u would luv them all I am sure..
