Appreciating Today
Changing your priorities
broadens the width of your scope.
And you start searching your heart
for a faint glimmer of hope.
Luck leaps merrily along,
then makes a sharp reversal.
For life's not a Broadway play,
there's no script or rehearsal.
The beauty of Winter's white
leaves Autumn colors in doubt.
And when tears morph into guilt,
anxieties start to sprout.
Reality devastates
dreams sculpted by hope and time.
For; emotions are fickle
and often turn on a dime.
Life is there to be enjoyed,
for it'll swiftly slip away.
And you should start; by merely
appreciating today.
