Anything Greener But Green
Green is a literal mix of yellow and blue,
as well as the cold calming color of nature,
to some, a concoction of malice-tainted hue,
on children's nightmares, a creepy one-eyed creature,
Green on a broad spectrum of darker dabs is war,
it also symbolizes hope, spring and envy,
few associated it with pestilence, all in one jar,
as to the East, an emblem of fertility.
Green is also called emerald, a precious stone,
same to most merchants in the social hierarchy,
also a paradise of lush vegetation,
as for myths, representing rebirth and the sea.
Green is for a slimy frog in a placid pond,
as it is for the goddess who upholds beauty,
for knowledge and wisdom shine so bright like the sun,
reaching mankind century after century.
