So intuition has become, an educated guess Improvisation requires, impromptu readdress Thinking on one’s feet, perhaps making a stand All at sea, seemingly tripping across dry land Peculiar situations, we find ourselves in Facing the music, for causing such a din Take it on the chin, your giving back cheek Trying to smile, lying through my teeth Gestures signals, simply mean to confuse High five, fist bump, completely overused The two fingers, up yours, sign of peace Sweating profusely, could be effort, or unease Dichotomies, divisions, never black and white Passive aggression, is probably malicious spite Break a leg, on the performance of one’s life Jack in the box, ripper concealing a knife Mixed messages, best not jump the gun Gut reactions, stand your ground, better run Playing it cool, whilst turning up the heat Shake hands before a game, meaning to cheat Sticking out tongues, in contempt, wait a kiss Crying in sadness, tears of ecstatic bliss Such is life, such is death, come friend or foe What’s going on in our mind, only we truly know JUST THINKIN'....... "break a leg on the performance of one's life". that line just hit me as so perfectly placed in the middle of this poem....like an unseen speed bump in the parking lot. Nicely done David. Thanks for participating in the contest
