Wrote this today in sheer disgust with our politics in the USA and the dirt from the mouths of so called leaders. I served in the military for 30 in five different decades, always proud. Now I'm just embarrassed. Is this what we've become under current leadership.

I keep listening to music The only thing that keeps me sane As I watch my country dying Lost in the pouring rain Music soothes the soul It’s an outlet for the hurt As I watch the nations leaders Smile and spread the dirt Oldies take me back To a better time. a better place Music calms my soul With memories and God’s grace I truly love my country And I cry with a broken voice I see what we have to choose from Do we really have a choice An old song takes me back To places that I love And I shed a bitter tear And pray to the Lord above. Another song from the fifties And then a sixties tune Too much dirt on the television Too many lies being strewn Music takes it all away The anxiety disappears Music makes me smile It wipes away my tears.
