When social upheaval brews chaos of nihilism, Forfeiting moral values, embracing skepticism; Instability ensues, clamoring in emptiness, Believing world is futile, life is meaningless, As broken norms shout, voicing nothingness From souls alienated by misplaced intellect, Mislaid by thoughts, vacuous and mindless. Barren is the landscape of infertile minds Dislocated in grip of meltdown and melancholy, Preferring to host anarchy, disharmony, Abandoning the virtues of reason, and logic, Rejecting bliss and benevolence of empathy, As gloomy clouds of disengagements form Roiling hearts in intense emotional storms. When disorder harbors indignity, incivility, Misery and despair lead to destructive society, As lost, worn-out souls wander unfulfilled, Rudderless, in angst of hollowness within, Aching for love-lost in fractured relationships Navigating purposeless-digressions adrift, Going nowhere, hovering over pit of abyss; Until from consciousness cogent voice speaks, Enlightened by guidance of wisdom satori, Harkening back to yore, of inspiring dawns, Blossoming-seasons of resplendent bygones, Reminding~ back then, how tranquil life was; Empowering now to banish reign of anomie, Exiting tenebrous clouds, shrouding sanity, Traversing back to abode of grace and unity, With compass-benevolent of love, and divinity.

Vijay, this is a reminder of the fact that civility and love have been known to us for thousands of years, but we have not grasped the means to preserve harmony and longevity. I enjoyed reading this, but it does make me sad.

Dear Vijay, it is always a pleasure reading your poems, as they flow not with just brilliant diction but also with thought provoking truth, in such a profound manner, articulated in such an engaging cadence. Youv touched and highlighted so many deep aspects that needs to be read by so many, and youv delivered it in such eloquence as always! I especially love the opening stanza as well as “ Misery and despair lead to destructive society, lost, worn-out souls wander unfulfilled” so true!FAV, BOL

A wonderful poem that delves into the minds of me. Great rhymes and arguments. Our society has lost all its morals and thinks only of evil aspirations. Is there hope for humanity? Your last two lines are perfect and I pray we achieve the grace you wrote about at the end. Best for a win.

Vijay The extent of unstable society and the accompanying existential crises were thoroughly explored. The deterioration of relativism and the subsequent loss of ethical standards leads to a world in which nothing counts and everything is meaningless. You did an outstanding job of portraying the feelings of estrangement and hopelessness that occur from a broken spirit and an erroneous mind. Still, there's an indicator of optimism shining through the shadows: a rallying cry to follow the path of compassion and insight. Best wishes for the contest

your poem is rife with wisdom and insight regarding the turmoil and chaos we witness in today's world. You created a masterpiece with your imagery (Rudderless, in angst of hollowness within,). In fact, your initial lines were captivating and succinctly described what I witness every day. I also appreciate the hope and strength in your last verse. Fabulous entry for the contest...you should place well. Have a splendid evening, Sara

Hello Vijay, you really dug into the depths of societal turmoil and the existential crises that accompany it. It's the erosion of moral values and the descent into nihilism, where chaos reigns and emptiness pervades. I loved how you captured the disconnection and despair that arise from misplaced intellect and fractured relationships. Yet, amidst the darkness, there is a glimmer of hope— a call to return to the guiding light of wisdom and empathy, to banish the reign of anomie and rediscover unity and grace. You have effectively shown the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity for transformation amidst adversity. - Blessings, Daniel
