Anniversary Reflection

We married on this date, though then It was Thanksgiving Day. The meal, of course, was turkey With all trimmings on display. The family flocked together To observe us say “I do,” Though with the traffic, it’s amazing Everyone got through. So what’s the date to celebrate? It is a bit confusing. The holiday itself seems like The day we should be choosing. ‘Cause each year on Thanksgiving, I remember when we wed And I wish we’d chosen any other Day for that instead. Yet tonight we’ll go to dinner And reflect on our mistake, Forcing folks to sacrifice the pies To eat our wedding cake.

Anniversaries are special no matter what date you marry. We celebrate ours on Dec. 4th and this year will mark 35 years. I enjoyed your clever poem. You should read this every thanksgiving. It is lovely! 7 ; )

I truly enjoyed your poem, Ilene, but I suppose in this case it's more appropriate to concentrate on your anniversary. I hope you'll enjoy many more anniversaries. (If I'm not mistaken every 22 years yours will fall again on Thanksgiving Day!) ~ Regards // paul

What a lovely poem Ilene:-) It's a date you will never forget Ilene and many congratulations:-) I hope you have a wonderful meal tonight... I got our anniversary wrong a couple of years ago I'd written down 20th instead of 22nd so now we joke we celebrate it twice:-) hugs Jan xx
