Angry Parents

Their parents fight every day sometimes over nothing at all, the children can't hide away from the fighting behind closed doors, the parents are supposed to know better than to fight and argue in front of their tearful children. They turn their anger toward their children, they slap them around, scream and yell at them, call them vulgar names, the children are the innocent victims in all the conflict surrounding them. The children wonder why all this is happening to them? It's bad enough that the parents have to scream and fight with eachother when the children are around, but turn around and take it out on them? What is this world coming to? The children have to go to school and explain to their teachers and friends why they have bruises all over them. The children get too scared to go home, as the day of school ends, they are in fear to have the anger between their parents, taken out on them again. Copyright Cynthia Jones Mar.5/2004
