Angels and Demons
Listen hard, do you hear the whispers of the night?
softly telling you to follow your long forgotten dreams
urging you, egging you on insidiously pushing you
be they the words of angels? Or a demons words?
Pricking at your inner mind twisting your very thoughts
dragging up the long forgotten past of things best forgot
veritably I tell you both the sins and good deeds haunt
as they push and flood their way into the present and future
Never can one escape what is past and done, secrets buried
lives forever changed by an ancient lie or from good deed
these hidden voices taunt as they press for release and freedom
be they the words of angels? Or a demons words?
Maybe a confession will free you from their silken ties
let you take the morale highway or cast you away
leaving you full of regret for the silence you have kept
as you are reminded of the long forgotten doubts of the past
