When you look back Beyond your innocence of youth and jealousy There will lie patience and age Devoid of rage And all that came before Will make sense In the present tense And what you had before Which you chose to ignore Becomes up to your partner Thinking whether You were worth fighting for Or if settling an old score Putting to bed a festering sore That broke there spirit And made them feel worthless Was merely angel dust and wonder lust
