And Nature Spoke to Me

I pulled my aching body
Outside to get Vitamin D
The beauty of my back yard
Filled me with jubilee

And as I turned up my face
To soak up each golden ray
I heard strange sweet voices
That added joy to my day

And the sun spoke to me
As he blazed down from the sky…
“Like me you must be strong
And warm those who pass by”

And the wind spoke to me
As it played with my hair…
“Like the Holy Spirit of God
I’m here and everywhere.”

And the birds spoke to me
With their blissful little tweets…
“Open your heart to friends
They will give you many treats”

And the blossoms spoke to me
In fuchsia garments of spring…
“See the thorns by our sides?
Be prepared for all life brings.”

And the grass spoke to me
As it lay yellow on the ground
“Let love water your soul
So new life in you may be found.”

And the sky spoke to me
In azure tones of love…
“I’m endless as you can see
Free to fly is the peace dove.”

And the clouds spoke to me
As they sailed up in the sky…
“Let the worries that you have
Like us just drift on by”

And the pine trees spoke to me
As their scent filled the air…
“Stand tall like us and know
Gods help is always there.”

Today, all nature spoke to me
In a mother’s tone so kind
My heart heard every word
And I found my peace of mind.

Reading this again has even more meaning. I would suggest you read it over and over and let it wash over you. By not writing you are forfeiting a part of yourself and in the process not experiencing the affection you so richly deserve. Hugs Rick.

And nature spoke to me with spiritual awareness. That's what I got when I read what you wrote. Your last verse is heaven sent. :)

How does it go? Be still and know that I am God...or something like that...such a beautiful simple truth just like your poem...

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Isn't that simply beautiful??? There is so much beauty in the Bible! This poem is a poor reflection! Have a blessed day, my dear!

That is exactly how it goes, Donna. Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." :) Also...I love these verses in Psalm 139: Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

I hope they didn't speak all at once, that would be quite distracting, ha ha. Good message, I just couldn't help myself.

Good one, Richard. That would be something...you mean they'd be rivaling the other voices inside my head? ;) Thanks for the smile!

Eileen, this original beauty feels to me like words and feelings Native Americans believe, here in Minnesota....heart warming to hear you, our friends on the other side of the pond, share these sacred beliefs....jimbo

Hi James! :) Been to the States....yes, I do know what native Americans feel about oneness with nature, but I was purely seeing this as an opportunity for us to see beauty around us that testifies of a living GOD! :)
