And As I Pray

And while my hands pray once again To feel the gentle dripping rain, Oh let misgivings ease this time So I can watch my angels climb, Is all that I might need from you… Then let the faith cuddled inside Keep blossoming, and never hide. Now, as I end this evensong Into your arms I do belong, Although life weary still appears Your touch I sense, as midnight clears Perhaps I need a lot from you... But being near, not far away Makes me your friend, dear Lord, each day. A Brian Strand Contest No. 355 Submitted 10/30/2017

What a marvelous read from a blessed paged built on lines constructed with the lyrics of the skies and words well supported by dynamic foamy clouds. Message well expressed! No doubt an absolute 7##.

There are times, i say to a poem, "beautiful" or "Great write" or "I loved this" and well at times I know the comment may seem somewhat generic, let me use this poem as an example, is not that at all, it that I am at a loss for words! Some poems you just like without reason or thought, they flow into you, this is one and well now, ya all know, if I say "Great poem" I truly mean it!

Excellent structure, sentiment, rhythm and rhyme! I love the insertion of lines '...is all that I can ask of you,' '...is all that I can want from you,' and '...perhaps I need a lot from you.' They fit snugly within the ongoing rhyming. I LOVE your final line! God bless, Keith
