And As I Pray
And while my hands pray once again
To feel the gentle dripping rain,
Oh let misgivings ease this time
So I can watch my angels climb,
Is all that I might need from you…
Then let the faith cuddled inside
Keep blossoming, and never hide.
Now, as I end this evensong
Into your arms I do belong,
Although life weary still appears
Your touch I sense, as midnight clears
Perhaps I need a lot from you...
But being near, not far away
Makes me your friend, dear Lord, each day.
