An Old Boardwalk
I heard that there had been some talk
About doing away with the old boardwalk;
To maintain it was such a high expense
And continuing to care for made no sense.
Now all what we do is stare over there
At the boardwalk in bad need of repair,
While time and hands of a clock proceed on
Soon dilapidated boardwalk will be gone.
Now when together we want to walk and talk
Or birds and animals might tart to stalk,
Woods with all of them will have to share
Because the boardwalk is beyond repair.
