An Integral Part
You try to dismiss those feelings
you've hidden deep within your heart.
Yet, you dream of a fantasy
where lust is an integral part.
Innocence and sin commingle,
often blending in silhouette.
And although opposing shadows,
they converge with little regret.
Angels share your heart with demons;
love and lust are like mirrored twins.
And despite defined differences,
you cannot always tell which wins.
When erotic passions ignite,
you indulge in sexual thoughts.
But, if it's sex you're pining for,
lust is likely calling the shots.
Love provides legitimacy
to emotions aroused by lust.
For they may seem identical
when tethered to the bonds of trust.
