An Endless Road
An Endless Road
It's a pity I now know
As sadly down road do go
For I am a restless breed.
Looks like long road back
And way is dark and black
With sin, lust and greed.
Bad times appear to be plenty
And hardships seem so many
Sadness see each and every day.
For me, nothing is in store
And I will surely die poor
Quietly I just did pass away.
Finally found peace at last
But was not from the past
Seemed like one big, bad dream.
A smile in water now wear
With no worry or any care
Found face down in a stream.
I wrote this when I was fourteen back in
1955. My son Jamie Horn was found face
down in a stream on August 27, 2005 on
our 39th wedding anniversary. He was fishing
that morning and that is all we know about him.
