An Angel In Disguise
Her wings had been taken a long time ago.
An angel on earth with a lovely smile.
Yet they could see a sadness in her eyes,
as much as she tried not to let it show.
She was sent to comfort fifty old guys,
they were thankful to have her for a while.
Even here on earth she was fond of white,
A nurses uniform fitted her well.
Caring was natural for this angel girl.
She made the mundane glow with heavenly light!
Their gift and pleasure more precious than pearl,
was stolen away during midnight bell.
They had a dream to give her back wings,
to help their sweet angel be heaven bound.
Fifty old fellows with tears in their eyes.
Two tear soaked feathers each one of them brings.
Their sadness so deep I can hear their cries,
all that can be heard is a sobbing sound.
Old hearts lifted suddenly become young.
Feathers become wings to accompany her!
They see her true smile it is crystal white,
with voices of praise I heard as they sung
Joyful thanksgiving and "Silent Night".
Taken home to heaven in a bright blur!
For Isaiah's Hidden Angel Contest.
I chose picture one because I imagined an angel getting her wings back.
