Among Ancient Oaks

How quickly they scurry each November among ancient oaks. Jaws holding the treasures they hoard in domestic holes. Flicking bushy tails while finding acorns and cones in woodland delis. November 7, 2022 A November Nonet Contest Sponsored by Andrea Dietrich

Seems everyone loves to watch squirrels; they are a joy to watch...until they get in your attic (lol) Lovely entry for the contest, Jenna. Best wishes...Charlie

Can’t go wrong with those squirrels, Jenna. My own entry, which I’m not quite happy with yet, looks scruffy and jagged. Yours like it’s been filed smooth. I wonder if you worked at that or was it pure chance. Either way, it looks as good as it reads. All the best in the contest. Terry

I write what comes to mind, let ir sit for a while and then return to say..."What was I thinking?" It's all about the editing, Terry. Thanks for your interest and remarks.

Not really. I have a single dogwood in the front yard, and I have two sycamores in the backyard. They are huge, old trees that are probably the tallest in our neighborhood. The squirrels seem to love them.

Hi Milt. Thanks for the insight. You must have lots of trees in your yard.

They're a delight to see this time of year as they get ready for winter. Love the layout Jenna. Hope your week is off to a good start. Tom

I think the words scurry, too ... what a pleasant, quick rhythm, and "woodland delis" made me smile.
