Alongside Salvation

I am the seed hoping for soil enriched with tears from the sky a sun so warm one must pause the rays perched upon the eyes I could grow in solitude escaping from this pod then grab hold of the earth to become one with fertile sod so long as I can bloom and launch precious seeds some across a dormant summer sky to sprout flower, bush, or tree in the heavens I might travel farther than the bald eagle though I may end as fodder for crows who squawk and banter I am the seed hoping for you

Ricky, such a thoughtful sentiment in clever verse with an elegant portion of rhyme. I see a more epic message, more than simply the life of a seed. I hear the story of all living plants and fauna and their neverending connection to humankind. This is the story indigenous people tell of nature. You carry the emmensity of this message in your quiet verse. I heard it. I hope others heard it too. This work deserves more praise. It is one of the top entries most surely.

Gayle I was on the verge of scrapping this poem. It seemed strange to me. I had never written anything like this before but one by one others began to comment on how they liked it so I kept this weird little poem. Thanks for stopping by...………..peace!

Lovely and cleverly written, Richard. I view this as both a personification and a metaphor. Regards // paul

Paul this poem was the result of a heated argument I had years ago with my ex-wife. Go figure. Thanks for your support...................peace!
