Along the Way
During the sleigh ride through the snow,
Bells are ringing loud and low,
Strong white horses pulled us all,
As we rode passed the City Hall.
Snowflakes fell from misty grey clouds,
And landed in our hair,
Horeshoes printed on the ground,
Among the white snow so fair.
Icicles dangled from tree branches above,
As the frosty wind bit our faces,
Within the many cozy houses among us,
Burned roaring fire in the fireplaces.
The aroma of gingerbread filled the air,
As the church bells began to chime,
Happiness roamed throughout the town,
For it was now Christmastime.
