Alone In My Car

As I wait for my kid to get off the bus I ponder at how life has crept up on us. I'm reminded of a comment my Father said to me, "My mind is young, why can't the rest of me be". The carefree thoughts, the hearty laughs, the simple pleasures and unwanted bathes. Kids think nothing but of themselves, a treasure in disguise or so, unveils. What game to play next, what character to be, A glorious imagination is what I see. So alone I wait, right here in this car, and wonder how time has gotten this far.

It don't go away neither. I be 81 and and my son, 57. The "glorious imagination" is what one misses the most. KIds have it - everything new and exciting. The last line is super! Dave

Kids see the beauty and everything and somewhere in the process of growing up we seem to lose that sight...We get more wrapped up in what people think of us and not what we think of ourselves. Love the poem. -Destiny.

Thoughts of the past as you sit in your car, time flies > to where you are now. Its what you have done to this point in time, to allow your life to flow like a delightful rhyme. To the sister of Kim, i welcome you. As i will read your words and see them through >> James
