Alone
Once there was this little boy who
Stopped playing with the other kids in school,
He had this little rubber ball
And all day he’d bounce it against the wall,
His teacher noticed there was something wrong
So she asked him what was going on?
‘Nothings wrong’ is all he would say
And with his ball he’d still play,
After school she decided to follow him
She found him going through a rubbish bin,
Picked him up and took him home
Only to discover he was there alone,
The poor boy’s mother wasn’t there
She up and left him without a care,
Teacher took him and looked after him
He never thought anyone would take him in,
Two weeks went by and all was good
Then on the doorstep a policeman stood,
‘Can I have a word about your mam’?
‘I’d like to come in if I can’
‘We’ve searched all areas all around
But she’s just nowhere to be found’,
The little boy went to look for her instead
And that’s when he found her lying there dead,
One long month had past
It seemed like a lifetime since he seen her last,
With no family left he’s on his own
His teacher’s house is now his home.
