Alone

Sometimes I need to be alone. Far from the sound of laughter, Far past the sounds of the city. I crave the soothing ease of silence. I need to put my feet in the stream And watch the leaf swirl by and Travel to its new glory . Quietly. Without need to shout “look at me” Knowing its journey will be kept in my heart. Sometimes I long for an old cabin Lost in a solitary wood. Where days can be spent in pleasing reverie, With only the music of the spheres. Alone with my years and my memories, Stopping to reflect on life’s road. With leave to act on fantasy’s stage And play the role I had intended.

I wish my boyfriend was here, he is at work right now. this sounds exactly like him. lol he needs his "alone time" too, even if he is constantly coming over to my place all hours of the night.

What a lovely read this is. It offers the reader a piece of the same serenity you seek within it. Magnificent detail and imagery used to make the reader feel like they belong. MIchael

Oh I love this work because I long for that solitude at times, just to be able to get away and reflect and create. You did a wonderful job with this piece.

I can really relate to this excellent poem. I was going to write that it transported me to that old cabin, but then I realised that I might intrude on your silence. Beautifully written, and such a shame I have come to the end of my journey through your poetry. I will be eagerly awaiting your future posts. Love, Nigel
