Ain'T Life Grand

I'm off to see the grandfolk Have not been there before Against the rules in such a place I'm not quite sure what for My sister's gone off camping My bro didn't want to come He saw his leash and disappeared Too early yet for that So he stayed home with mitsy Too bad for him I say More hugs for me Much more attention I'll bring some back for him What a place this is Can't see the top I'd say half way to heaven And quite a lengthy corridor I wonder where it goes Trust in grampa he'll take me To wherever we're bound Hey look it's gramma sound asleep Well I'll take care of that My word what are you doing here You know we can't do this But since you're here just feel at home And check out our new pad I wont forget this special day What a ducky place indeed For the grandest folk I ever knew I love the Southview Grand

Hi, Mike. You are doing nothing wrong. I have been here on and off since 2006. On the right hand side of this page under Member poet - 5th one down (Best Poems) is where members and non- members come often. Ones that end up there will get lots of hits. Keep reading and commenting on others poetry and they will read yours. Each time read is calculated as a hit. The number of times someone selects your poem as a favorite, determines if is will make the best poem list. Hope this helps.

Sorry Mike, I misunderstood. I did see the part about the leash. I somehow thought the poem was about small kids visiting their grandparents and the bro had lost a leash for his dog. By the way, this poem fits the category of Personification. All the forms of poems can be found and defined under forms located at the upper blue section of this page, close to the left side of the page. I am going on to read more of your poetry. bfn Elaine

Hi Mike, It sounds like you had a wonderful day with your grandparents. I too loved my grandparents, and have written many poems about them: The Love of Gentleman and Frosted Panes, are posted here on Poetry Soup. I look forward to seeing the wonderful poems you will create now that you have found this website. Wishing you a joy-filled day. Elaine

I guess you did not see that part about the leash, but that's ok. It's about a dog visiting the grand parents (parents of the dog owner) in their new condo, where dogs are not allowed. I have grand kinds too. Have not got to them yet. Thanks again.

Thank you kindly. I just looked at your list. How do you get so many views? Am I doing something wrong or am I not doing something right?
