Aileen
AILEEN
Aileen, my dearest darling wife
Nigh 50 years bar a month.
Half a century she filled with love.
Aileen, wife and a loving caring mum.
Her face a smile, a shining sun!
The pain she suffered in her later years
Caused one and all to shed many tears
Her failing heart was her secret
Not revealed till it was too late
She shouted Mick and with arms held wide
Stood up, fell, and sadly died.
To all who tried to bring Aileen back
In endeavors, you did not lack.
The family thank you for doing your best
Aileen suffers no more and now lays at rest.
With broken hearts, we will say goodbye
Perhaps the world will hear us cry
Tears of sadness, tears of love
For Aileen, mother, grand and great,
Daughter, sister, aunty, and a wife,
Never ever to be forgotten Aileen, my life...
The weeping, sobbing never done,
Our kids will always miss their mum
I write with tears flowing down my cheeks
Every morning my hurting peaks
No longer will I hear her hear call my name
Mick, Mick I'm in pain.
It broke my heart then, again and again.
Now my heart is broken beyond repair
And I know for you all your heartfelt despair
Aileen, mum, Nana, sister, daughter, aunt, in-law, wife, and friend.
Her spirit will be with us all,
Even now she is at my side as these words I write.
If my tears were words, they would fill a library
No, not 'a' library, everyone in the world!
All our tears, our hearts unfurled, oceans of emotion.
Her love for us all, her heartfelt devotion,
Never to be forgotten, Aileen!
