Aftershock

When this all began, it felt like a dream. Your voice made no noise, As you tried to scream. And now Demons crawl, Into your ears. Whispering all, Your deepest fears. But who brought you here, To this wretched place? Stare at a broken mirror, at what you can't erase. And now the telltale sign holds true, The reason you can't leave is you. And now you're reaching out, Trying to find some common ground. But you can't bribe your own sick mind, And you can't turn the hands of time. You're trapped inside this repeating past, Living memories, That will be your last. Know no hope of achieving change, Stay this way, reliving pain. You're the one playing this game. You've lost your mind, And With who to blame? You've got no clue? You're too dead to name. But you're still reaching out, Trying to breathe, It's easier to drown. So sink or swim, It's over now. You're falling faster than the weight of guilt, you lifeless bastard You'll get what you've built. A slowing clock, that can't keep track of time. Now Aftershock, destroys that long lost mind. You had a chance but now I fear it's lost. You bought your hope but didn't know the cost.
