After the Rain
Raining, pouring rain
doesn't seem to stop
It gives way to appear it won't let up soon
One mind dyed black with depression
no lesson needed, no lesson appreciated
only one confession
He only wishes she, she of all people
his mystery, his affliction, his severance set
would see the truth
imbued with the scent of her smell in his jacket
he...he....
can't utter another word as the headstrong wind
tugging at his back threatens to slay him with shards of glass
if he dares to turn around
not when there's someone he needs to see
Frozen in time, he there stands
a few feet across from her
the last drop of rain fell in the center of them
like it was waiting on a cue
and all he wanted to do was turn, run
this wasn't it, she wasn't...her
she wasn't...she...she...
but he just couldn't move
The clouds dispatched and the sun cast its gaze
upon the vacant spot where it wished for them to stand
The wind, guess it really understood
as it pushed the strangers together
No, no, no, no
this wasn't right, this wasn't it
this, this, this....
Her face, like a blue rose drenched in rain, beautiful
Her face, captivating and enchanting
a thief as she stole a kiss, stealing the words from his lips
'With arms wide open, to say to show you
I picked this for you, under reflecting sunlight
how much you mean to me, how much I am hopelessly in love with you
so please hide from your troubles in my embrace
I am yours to hold'
