After It's Over
The light has
dimmed
one can
barely make it out through
the murky waters
Our time is over
we must move on
to make way
for the next generation
Cherished hopes
fade as
leaves change
from green to crimson
and fall onto the fields
and the pavement
Let's not despair
We had our moment
in the sun
Now it's time for
others to have their turn
One spin of the wheel
and it's over
Rainclouds form in the sky
The sun is no
longer shining on us
Let's take shelter
quickly
So other actors
can take the stage
