African Heart
my Pharaoh’s Pyramids anchor my past
proving my future to be gold and vast
Kilimanjaro lifts my heavy brow
he brings my African heart back to wow
when my thoughts melt in a midday swelter,
baobab trees provides my soul shelter
I see life crossing the Savannah
she’s stocking my larder with my manna
contrasts are the future. As with zebra,
all balancing like the star of Libra
survival ensures our life intertwined
our forefathers the Cradle of mankind
Africa does not live in a passport
stamp your hearts and fly to any airport
