INTERGENERATIONAL POETRY CONTEST
a person aged from 13 to 19 years.
I am, no longer twelve
adolescence I am youth
Adolescence and I am in a transitional stage
I am a young person
Why? Is everyone always telling me what to do
I'm a minor
Adolescence and I am in a transitional stage
Nothing more finer
I'm thirteen
This world so mean
I have a mind
Stop hovering over me all the time
I'm fourteen
I'm being held in a dream
Why does the world and America mistreat me
I have a voice, I have a choice
No really
Adolescence and I am in a transitional stage
My psychological development
Left on the table
Generally occurs during the period
From puberty to legal adulthood
At fifteen
I'm being held in a dream
Adolescence is usually associated with the teenage years
Stop hovering over me all the time
I'm sixteen
Not a baby
Now at seventeen
Four years from being a man a woman
A junior in high school
Why does the world and America mistreat me
No really
Adolescence and I am in a transitional stage
My psychological development
Left on the table
Generally occurs during the period
From puberty to legal adulthood
At eighteen
I have the same body parts and mind set as adults
And yet in me you do not trust
I'm being held in a dream
Adolescence is usually associated with the teenage years
Stop hovering over me all the time
All these rules do as I say not as I do
How can I as a child do right when you as an adult do wrong
I am, no longer twelve
adolescence I am youth
Adolescence and I am in a transitional stage
I am a young person
Why? Is everyone always telling me what to do
I'm nineteen
Adolescence and I am in a transitional stage
Nothing more finer
This world so mean
I have a mind
Stop hovering over me all the time
I'm nineteen
I'm being held in a dream
Why does the world and America mistreat me
Its physical, psychological
Also cultural expressions
May begin earlier and end later
Now I say I'm an adult
Not adolescent, youth,
Young person, minor, nor juvenile
Informal teen, teenybopper I am not
umri wa kijana
Teenager
And in all of my stance and misguided complaints
Grandma says boy(girl) ya can be 38
Your still not grown yet...
