Adam's Easter

Adam’s Easter I fell today, an unexpected plunge. A once inviting pleasure now gave birth to anguish clouding the eyes of my soul, snatching the innocence that lay within. Forced to the ground like ancient serpent who chose its own deception I found no dwelling for honor and code, or joyful communion. Only me. Now alone. I wept in pain, a shuddering lament. Not sure of its genesis I came to understand bewilderment born in my spirit that now embodied innocence and guilt, obedience and shame. I felt punctured and torn apart like one thrust from the heavens doomed to time, forced to drink of the absence of eternity that I chose. Bitter herbs. A herald sounded today, a heavenly blast. I sensed it profoundly within as it rose from a forgotten image, an unseen power summoning life, heralding hope. They say my descendant was put to death pierced on a cross, head crowned with thorns as the wind blew briskly over the emptiness of the earth and the veil that separated God from man was torn in two. I ponder. I wait.

Welcome to the site! This was very well laid our. I like how you weave elements from the Crucifixion into Adam's thoughts. It gives lots of food for thought. I look forward to reading more of your work. ~Jan
