I walked away, leaving behind the ruin and destruction of what we were. I left you behind without second thought, for my eyes were fixed only forward. Seeking myself, lost in the darkness, a quest I had to take alone. You're an empty hollow in my heart but the hollow is not to be my focus. Climbing the mountain of my sorrows, gaining strength, recovering lost pieces until one day, I will reach the top, and I can look back, see it all. And then I'll tell you what I saw, and then maybe we'll understand.
