Acceptance
He was a funny person and always so very gay
A delightful and loyal friend to me in every way
We would laugh and share a meal, and a picture show or two
Live through our darker moments, 'till a brighter day was new.
I was uneasy if another woman made a pass
I soon learned that fate destined them to love another lass
You cannot dictate how a heart yearns when love comes around
Tho I was straight, I came to understand their journey bound.
Life can be sweet, and time is short, to judge another’s way
So, welcome all into your world, be careful what you say…
All souls need love and caring to fill a life with pleasure
To know we’re all accepted in friendship is a treasure.
For peace and understanding of another can begin…
Don’t dwell on the differences, but see the soul within!
