Accents and Stress

reading to ourselves never speaking verse aloud do we miss the point Note: I was reminded of this aspect of poetry when my wife recently recited one of her favourite poems to me from her school days by Walter De La Mare 'Off the Ground'.

Brian, I usually read aloud each poem, in the quiet basement, sometimes going back again if it really does something for me. I enjoy it this way. As usual, enjoyed another of your writes. Thank you for your kind comments! Peace, Audrey

I always read aloud. I want know if I like the sound of a poem before I ever look for anything else. Just as well no one hears me. :) This is a good senryu, thank you ....Margaret
