Listen to the silence adrift in the brittle sky... I behold pointed fingers of mute admiration My hand belongs to yours in this solitude of night... Then you show me without words the miracle of stars We glimpse her bare shoulders, as Venus brushes her hair It tumbles in the darkness like a quiet snowfall * * * * * * * * "Pen a Pensee" Resubmitted For Contest: #216 Sponsor: Brian Strand

yes, I used to be a keen amateur astron years ago, and I gotta say the main memory imprinted from nights gazing through telescopes is the immutable silence of the vast black emptiness...wow it is a bit overwhelming....and you have captured it in this poem...an accurate picture of space, with its emptiness and its beauty....another excellent work, Carrie....me likes it muchly
